To Those That Suffer With Achilles Injuries

Achilles Rehab is dedicated to the doctors that research in the area of Non-Surgical treatments of achilles tendon injuries. The pain and tears of my son's personal bought with chronic achilles tendinosis has given this website life. The local doctors we have encountered have tried their best but really contributed very little beyond RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation). The internet has been our major source for information in this battle. If you have any new information on any achilles treatments, please contact us.
~ May you heal fast and remain pain free ~

Supplements to Heal Achilles Tendon Injuries

All the supplements I have listed below were recommended by one or several websites. To better understand how we came to the point of such extensive research, here is a little background:

My son has had an achilles problem in both legs for two years now ( Click to see Rehab Update Page) When we started he was hardly able to walk. He endured the orthotripsy procedure, and PRP therapy, but still was unable to run or jump without the pain coming back immediately. Thus, I have researched every supplement I could find to aid in his healing. We are going to try the Super Cissus RX from GNC and Omega-3 for my sons achilles tendinosis rehabilitation.

As we walked into the office, I could see the hesitation on my son's face. He was about to undergo the
Orthotripsy® procedure on both of his achilles tendons. The nurse came and got us fairly quick and explained that they were going to numb or block the feeling in his legs with Lidocaine, a common local anesthetic, before starting the Orthotripsy® treatment.

PRP Therapy, The Procedure Helping to Heal Achilles Injuries

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy: PRP Injections are used for a variety of injuries. Platelets play a significant role in the healing of tissue, thus why doctors started using them with injuries which have low blood flow. The most common are chronic tendon injuries including the elbow, the patella, and the achilles. Tendons are connective tissue that connect bone to bone. What the doctors do is reintroduce a high concentration of platelets directly into the injured area to jump-start the body's ability to heal.
